Holiday Party & Annual Meeting
Date/Time:
12/15/2022
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Location:
Porchlight Coffee
1517 14th Ave, Seattle, Washington

Description:

After two years of virtual holiday parties, we’re excited to celebrate again in-person! Buh-bye Zoom. Our annual holiday party is a long tradition that goes back to 1999 when a small group of us met in the lounge at Canlis. Since then, we’ve been meeting in places that have been around since the mid-century, or housed in a MCM building (13 Coins, Bush Garden, Vito’s, to name a few). Unfortunately, some of these places are gone but we have fond memories! Our website’s home page shows you where we’ve gathered to celebrate the holidays and Modernism.

Please join us this year for Docomomo US/WEWA’s annual holiday party at Porchlight Coffee & Records on Capitol Hill. Big thanks to Zack Bolotin, owner of Porchlight Coffee & Records, for hosting us this year.

WHEN: Thursday | December 15 | 5:00 – 7:00 PM | FREE EVENT
WHERE: Porchlight Coffee | 1517 14th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98122 (between Pine and Pike)

Bring your good cheer and celebrate Modernism with us! Enjoy dessert and festive beverages.

We’re changing things up a little bit this year. Around 6:00 pm, we’ll hold our Annual Meeting to take care of a couple Board business items, provide updates on WEWA activities, and move onto a presentation on Capitol Hill Modern by photographer Lana Blinderman and historian Tom Heuser. Catch their fantastic virtual program for us in 2021. We’ll wrap up the program by 6:30 pm and continue to mingle!

Due to limited space, we’re asking for RSVPs. Please email us at [email protected] by December 12 and let us know you’re coming and if you’re bringing guests.

Docomomo US/WEWA follows King County COVID Health Guidelines. Proof of vaccination is not currently required for in-person events. Masks are optional, and we kindly ask that you respect those who choose to wear one.

Our programs are partially funded by a 4Culture Preservation Sustained Support grant.
