Our appeal of the King County Superior Court decision in favor of the University of Washington made it all the way to the State Supreme Court. Oral arguments were heard on June 6. The main issue was whether a public university is subject to a municipality's preservation ordinance. TV Washington recorded the proceeding. Watch it! It's only about 45 minutes but fascinating.

Docomomo WEWA recently submitted Seattle Landmark Nomination applications for the Pacific Architect and Builder building (1945 Yale Pl E) in the Eastlake neighborhood and the Shannon and Wilson building (3670 Woodland Park Ave N) in an area that straddles Wallingford and Fremont. On July 19, the Landmarks Preservation Board will consider designation of the PA&B bldg and nomination of the S&W bldg.
